In charge of Chinmaya International Foundation, and President & Trustee, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth
Swami Advayananda is in charge of the Chinmaya International Foundation, the Academia of Sanskrit Research and Indic Studies of the Chinmaya Mission located at the birth home of Sri Adi Sankaracharya at Veliyanad in Ernakulam District, Kerala.
Swami Advayananda is also a Trustee of the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, a unique University established in 2016 to promote world-class education rooted in Indian Knowledge Traditions. He is a member of the University’s Board of Management and the President of its Executive Council.
Swamiji began his spiritual journey with the Chinmaya Mission at the young age of 18. Inspired by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, he joined Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, the premier institute of Vedantic learning of the Chinmaya Mission at Mumbai. Having completed his Vedantic studies in 1992 he was ordained into the dedicated spiritual life by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. Later in 2003, he was initiated into the holy order of sannyasa by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, the then Head of the Chinmaya Mission.
Early on in his tenure as Br. Samahita Chaitanya, from 1996-2000, Swamiji was in charge of Spiritual and Cultural Education at the Chinmaya International Residential School (CIRS), Coimbatore, thus sculpting the lives of a generation of young adults. Thereafter he became Acharya of the Sandeepany Vidyamandir, the Gurukula of the Chinmaya Mission at Coimbatore, in 2000 and conducted the Vedanta Course in Tamil and English for young monks. Later, Swamiji also served as Acharya of the 15th Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai, from 2011 to 2013.
Since 2003, being in charge of Chinmaya International Foundational, Swami Advayananda has overseen a significant expansion in the research publications and Home Study Courses of CIF. An accomplished teacher of Vedanta, with many Gita and Upanishad lecture and discourse series to his credit, Swamiji has also authored several books on Vedanta such as the Holy Gita Ready Reference, Advanced Vedanta Course, a series of research articles titled ‘Vedanta Unveiled’ to name a few. He has also edited many Vedantic works in English and Sanskrit including the Foundation Vedanta Course, a course on Bhagavad-gita, and book like Ishvara-darshanam and Suktisudha.
Swami Advayananda contributed to the research and coordinated the Upanishad Ganga, a television series depicting the message of the Upanishads. The series was produced by Chinmaya Creations and was first telecast on Doordarshan in 2012.
Most recently, Swamiji has overseen and co-redacted the publication of the 2-volume work on the Brahmasutra-catussutri. The work on the text is noteworthy for its profound, student-friendly English translation and exposition of Sri Adi Shankaracharya’s commentary on the first four aphorisms of the Brahmasutra, with extensive footnotes from 10 sub-commentaries.
SWAMI SHARADANANDA SARASVATI
Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati joined the 2002 batch of the Vedanta Course under Swami Iswarananda at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai. Prior to joining the Chinmaya Mission, Swamiji studied various Indian spiritual disciplines including Vedanta & Yoga from different ashrams and institutions like Ramakrishna Mission, Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh; Bihar School of Yoga, Munger, and others. A post-graduate in Advaita Vedanta, Swamiji ranked first at the All India level and was awarded a gold medal from the prestigious Sanskrit University, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.
Swamiji assisted Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda as the Sanskrit Acharya in the 13th Vedanta Course Batch at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya. A year after this batch, Swamiji was the Acharya for the Purohit Course (batch of 2010) at Chinmaya Gardens, Coimbatore. Being eloquent, erudite and versatile, Swamiji was again appointed as Upacharya for the 15th Sandeepany Vedanta Course (Batch of 2013), where he mesmerized his students with his evening classes on the Srimad Bhagavatam and also gave them excellent grounding in Sanskrit and Vedic Chanting. Formerly known as Br. Samvid Chaitanya, Swamiji received Sannyasa-diksha from Pujya Guruji on Sivaratri, 2014 and joined Chinmaya International Foundation in March 2014.
Swamiji is a member of the Management Board of Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth. Swamiji will be the Acharya for the up-coming Malayalam Vedanta Course which is slated to begin this October.
BR. SAGAR CHAITANYA
Br. Sagar Chaitanya was deeply interested in spirituality right from his childhood. He joined the Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai (Mumbai) where he completed his Vedanta Course in 1998. Bestowed the 'Brahmacharya Deeksha' by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda in 1998, he served at the Noida and Sidhabari centres till 1999.
In 2000 he took over as the In-charge of the Vedanta Home Study Course at the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Mumbai. Today, Br. Sagar Chaitanya serves at the Chinmaya International Foundation adding a new fillip and inspiration to the Postal and E-Vedanta Courses.
BR. SUNDAR CHAITANYA
He started his service as an evaluator (examiner) of the CIF Home Study Courses (for the students of online Bhagavad Gita and Foundation Vedanta course) stationed at Trichy (Tamilnadu) since 2011. In October 2013, he joined the CIF publication team under the leadership of Swami Advayananda in assisting and editing various books includes Brahmasutra, Advaita Amrtam, Naishkarmyasiddhi, Sri Ramanuja, the annual CIF Newsletters, the Upanishad Course material, and the book titled ‘LEEP’ (Life Empowerment and Enrichment Program – based on Bhagavad Gita for college students) published by Central Chinmaya Mission Trust (CCMT).
He is one of the Facilitators who guides the Webinar classes of CIF Home Study Courses (Foundation Vedanta and Bhagavad Gita). He also facilitates the sales and promotion of CCMT and CIF publications during Book Fairs and other occasions.
As an enthusiastic educator and inspiring faculty in implementing the Chinmaya Vision Program (CVP) of CCMT’s Chinmaya Education Cell (CEC), he has been involved in conducting Value Education weekly once classes for the senior students and teachers of Chinmaya Vidyalayas (Srirangam, Kochi-Kannamali, Thirupunithura and Ernakulam-Vaduthala) since 2010. He also assists and conducts the Value based spiritual camps for all age groups under the guidance of Senior Swamins of Chinmaya Mission.
Br. Sundar Chaitanya completed the two year residential Vedanta Course (13th batch, 2005-2007) under the guidance of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai, Mumbai. From 2007 onwards, he has been serving as a Br. in facilitating the Chinmaya Mission activities and programs (Vedanta classes for adults and senior citizens, Yuva Kendra classes for CHYKs, Balvihars for children, Jnana yagnas, Geeta chanting competitions, etc.) in various cities (Salem, Coimbatore and Trichy under the guidance of senior Swamins including Swami Shridharananda, Regional Head of Tamilnadu). He also served at Mumbai for a year in assisting Swamini Amitananda to proof-read and edit (various books) and establish the recent guidelines of the Chinmaya Prakashan, the Publication wing of CCMT. Prior to doing the Vedanta Course, he was introduced to the Chinmaya Mission in 2003, while he was working as Junior Research Fellow and for Doctorate degree (Ph.D) at Dept. of Microbiology, University of Delhi after his completion of graduation and post‐graduation from University of Madras with first class.
BR. CHIRANTAN CHAITANYA
Br. Chirantan Chaitanya did his Vedanta study during year 2014-2016 (16th Vedanta Course) at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai Mumbai under Pujya Swami Bodhatmananda. Bestowed the 'Brahmacharya Diksha' by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda in 2016.
After completion of Vedanta Course, Br. Chirantan Chaitanya is posted to serve at Chinmaya International Foundation. Presently he is offering his seva in the department of Home Study Course and CIF Publications.
BRNI. DEVAKI CHAITANYA
Brni. Devaki Chaitanya was posted to CIF after she completed her Vedanta Course at the Sandeepany Sadhanalaya in September 2013. Devakiji has been vested with the responsibility of spearheading grass root activities of the Mission (Balavihar, CHYK classes, Devi group, Study group, Yajnas on Bhagavatam and the Bhagavad-gita) in the villages and hamlets neighbouring Veliyanad.
BR. SUDHEER CHAITANYA
Br. Sudheer Chaitanya studied the Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya Mumbai under Swami Advayananda and Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati (then Br. Samvid Chaitanya), in the 15th Batch of Vedanta Course, 2011-2013.
He has been a Chinmaya child having done his schooling Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Alleppey and thereafter been an active Chinmaya Yuva Kendra member to move onto serving the Mission as a Yuvaveer of the 3rd cadre for two years at CIF. After his service tenure as a Yuvaveer he further served as a sevak at CIF prior to taking up the Vedanta course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya. He played an active role in coordinating the grand inauguration of the Chinmaya Birth Centenary celebrations (CBCC).
He is presently managing the CIF Annex at Kottayam, serving at Chinmaya Mission Kottayam and is also the State Coordinator for Chinmaya Yuvakendra, Kerala.
Br. Ved Chaitanya
“The best way to serve a Mahatma is to follow His teachings with utmost sincerity”, says Br. Ved Chaitanya, who is serving at Chinmaya International Foundation. He comes from a family which has always been active in the Chinmaya Mission. Being inspired by the Swamins of Chinmaya Mission, such as Swami Purushottamananda, Swami Siddheshananda and others, Br. Ved being a very bright student has always been a disciplined sevak of Pujya Gurudev.
He completed his graduation in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Pune University and has also worked for a year in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) before joining the residential Vedanta Course in Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Powai in the year 2011.
After completion of two years of rigorous training under the guidance of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda and the tutelage of Swami Advayananda and Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati (then Br. Samvid Chaitanya), he received the Brahmacharya Diksha on Ganesh Chaturthi day in the year 2013 and was posted at Chinmaya Mission Navi Mumbai centre and served there till September 2017. Thereafter he was posted at CIF and was instrumental in compiling the questionnaire for the Home Study Courses’ Upanishad Course which was launched in October 2017. He is now the facilitator of the Upanishad Course Webinar sessions and also conducts a regular series of webinars on Sanatan Dharma. He is one of the main advisers for revamping the Home Study Courses into a completely online format.
Being a versatile orator, he conducts regular study classes for elders, balvihars for children and workshops for youngsters in English, Hindi and Marathi.
Br. Ved Chaitanya perfectly depicts young dynamism with pure wisdom. As a person, he is very cheerful and kind hearted, who is always loved by all, right from small kids to grown-up elders. He is very good at playing tabla and has also got several opportunities to accompany Pujya Guruji.
Smt. Shailaja joined the 15th batch (2011-2013) of the Vedanta Course under Swami Advayananda and Swami Sharadananda Sarasvati at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Mumbai. From 1996-2011 she served Chinmaya Mission, Chennai where she was conducting Balvihar classes and Devi groups, visiting schools and training children for Bhagavad Gita competitions. She was training above 50,000 children every year under Swami Mitrananda.
She joined Chinmaya International Foundation in December 2013 and is presently serving at Home Study courses and CIF Publications and coordinating various camps at CIF.
Smt. Shailaja travels to Bangalore and villages in Karnataka spreading the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and value education through scriptures at schools and colleges. She also conducts Balvihar classes, satsangs and Devi groups and teaches Narayaneeyam at many places. She takes regular classes for the staff at CIF.
SRI RAMMOHAN S
Sri Rammohan did his Vedanta Course 2012-2013 at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya Mumbai. From 2009-2012 and 2013-2014 he served at Chinmaya Mission Alpharetta, Georgia USA where he was coordinating and conducting Balvihar Classes, Spiritual Classes, Personality Development classes for youngsters and Gnana Yagnas.
In 2014 he joined CIF as the IT Head, and served in that position until 2017. Presently, he conducts and coordinates various activities at Chinmaya International Foundation such as Vedanta Course & Bhagavad Gita Webinar sessions, evaluation of Home Study courses answers, Bhagavad Gita & Vedic Chanting, pujas and rituals.
SMT SHANTHI RAMMOHAN
Smt. Shanthi Rammohan did her Vedanta Course 2012-2013 at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya Mumbai. From 2009-2012 and 2013-2014 she served at Chinmaya Mission Alpharetta, Georgia USA where she was coordinating and conducting Balvihar Classes, Spiritual Classes and Gnana Yagnas.
From 2014-2017 she served as the administrator and a facilitator of the Home Study Courses at Chinmaya International Foundation. She serves as an evaluator of the Home Study Courses, and facilitates several Webinar sessions on the Vedanta & Bhagavad Gita courses, Bhagavad Gita & Vedic Chanting, Pujas and Rites.
